It’s been a long time coming but MLB The Show is finally back on portables. The last time baseball fans were able to play the premiere baseball sim on the go was way back in 2015, which was the last year the series was released on the PlayStation Vita.

The PS Vita version was far behind the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 version by a large margin in pretty much every way but one: it was portable. Back then, it was easy to look past the graphical downgrade and the struggles of trying to play a game about hitting a small ball on a small screen because that was counter-balanced with the massive convenience of being able to play on the go.

The Mass Effect series is known for having a pretty wide arrange of romance options, especially once you get to the third game and same-sex options become available. Even inter-species alien love is on the table across all three games. Shepard (and Ryder too in Andromeda) is able to get freaky with just about every major alien faction in the game

However, the forbidden fruit, the final frontier if you will, has always been getting it on with Krogans. For whatever reason, the powers that be in BioWare have decided for the rest of us that Krograns, like our old pal Wrex, are off-limits. Through the power of modding and the skill of a talented animator, though, we no longer have to use our imagination. We have the technology to make Wrex-Shepard a thing. Whether it’s a thing you want to see, well, be careful what you wish for.

Today at the Sony State of Play, a new trailer for the upcoming 2D samurai action game, Trek to Yomi was shown off. For those out of the know, Trek to Yomi features a young swordsman Hiroki, as he voyages “beyond life and death to confront himself and decide his path forward.” He will be taking up the sword to avenge the townspeople he failed to save, and going up against other warriors and supernatural enemies, each with their own approaches to combat.

What stands out the most, though, is its black and white cinematic presentation, reminiscent of a classic Samurai film.

If you’re dying to change your Bungie ID name, you now have your chance. The creators of Destiny announced today that starting after a hotfix that is going to go live tomorrow at 9:00 am PT, account holders will have the option by logging onto Bungie.net.

To be honest, I didn’t even realize Bungie IDs were a thing. I just assumed everything was tied to our platform IDs. But hey, if you’re on the Bungie forums, and are dying to change your name up, then tomorrow is the big day. Head on over to Bungie.net after the update and go to the top right to sign in to your account.

The release of Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, is just about here. It releases in just one week on Feb 22 or 2/2/22 if you prefer.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve learned quite a bit more about what to expect with new features such as crafting, void 3.0, and just the story in general. This latest trailer, the official launch trailer for The Witch Queen, doesn’t add too much more to that. However, it pulls everything we know so far about The Witch Queen together in the flashiest and most explosive way yet.

Bungie released its traditional pre-expansion vidoc to give everyone a nice final helping of info before The Witch Queen launches on Feb. 22. The vidoc covers a lot of ground in its roughly 14-minute runtime.

Primarily, you get a good look at some of the new areas you’ll be visiting in Savanthun’s throne world and a taste of what the story will be about. Apparently, her throne world is a mix of thoughts she’s trying to push away, namely her old Hive life, and what she now wants her throne world to be now that she has control of the Light.

For what feels like a decade now *checks calendar* OK literally almost a decade as GTA V was released back in 2013, rumors and speculation has swirled about GTA VI. Today, Rockstar confirmed that active development on the next GTA game is underway.

No details were given about the game, they never said the words GTA VI, nor did they confirm how long the game has been in development. But, all that said, Rockstar is taking the big step of at least acknowledging the existence of a new GTA game, squashing any beliefs that there would never be another new GTA game and that GTA Online through GTA V was the future.

According to Bloomberg, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice league, is being delayed into sometime in 2023. The game, which is being developed by Rocksteady the team behind the acclaimed series of Arkham Batman games, was originally slated to release sometime in 2022. Considering the lack of news since its announcement back in August of 2020, it shouldn’t come as a total shock to many that it will release in 2023 instead.

The game is a co-op multiplayer game where players control members of the Suicide Squad, a group of antiheroes and villains that are being forced to work together to stop former heroes, such as Superman, now turned villains. The exact reason isn’t explained yet, but the villain Brainiac is rumored to be in the game, so that’s a likely reason.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen is only a few weeks away now at this point. It’s been an odd lead-up to the next big expansion to Destiny 2. For starters, well, Bungie just got bought by Sony so that’s a thing. But also, it’s been a cycle where it feels like Bungie has released so many trailers and little bits of information but has actually said so very little. This trailer does a better job of getting into some harder details.

We know that crafting and new exotics are coming to Destiny 2. We don’t yet know how crafting will work nor do we have an exhaustive list of exotics in The Witch Queen yet. This trailer doesn’t really tell us too much about weapon crafting other than when the video appears to tie crafting to various elements and Alchemy that has been teased during some of the other videos Bungie has released over the last few months.

While yes, the core of the gameplay that has defined the series for years is still there, there are still a lot of things that you want to know first before you get going in Pokemon Legends Arceus. This is one that is going to shock longtime fans of the series. Evolution does not work the same as it did in past Pokemon games. Keep the pitchforks low, though, because while it’s different, unless you’re a purist, it’s hard to argue that it isn’t just a straight up objective improvement.

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker on PlayStation 5

Final Fantasy XIV’s final expansion in the Hydaelyn and Zodiark saga, Endwalker, has a mountain of pressure on it. For starters, it’s trying to neatly wrap up a decade-plus long story. Ask around some of the other publishers in the industry like BioWare how difficult it is to end a long-running story in a way that makes everyone happy.

Endwalker has to follow Shadowbringers, easily the strongest expansion to an MMORPG in recent memory, and for my tastes at least (and I will wager many others), one of the best video game stories ever told, full stop. So yeah, no pressure!

Today Valve announced the release date of their highly anticipated handheld PC console. The Steam Deck will launch on Feb. 25, roughly a month from today. This release isn’t entirely open, however.

The Feb. 25 release date will only include those that reserved their order last year when the Steam Deck was revealed. When that date hits, those that ordered one will have three days to confirm and finalize their purchase.

Another year brings with it another exciting line-up of new games to look forward to. As part of Twinfinite’s annual award season, the staff has voted for its six most anticipated games of 2022. These are the landmark titles we think will define what is shaping up to be the first really big year of this most recent console generation.

6. Starfield

Editor-in-Chief Ed McGlone: Depending on who you ask, Starfield might seem low on our list, or they might feel it’s too high. Personally, I think just being on a list of most anticipated games is just the right spot.

To wrap up our annual award period, which recognizes the year’s best games across many different categories, we now arrive at the best of the best. Voted on by Twinfinite’s editorial staff, these were our top six favorite games of 2021. Starting with a couple of honorable mentions and runner-ups, we are now ready to reveal our overall Game of the Year for 2021.
