Minka Kelly – North

North is a WR400 android that accompanies Markus on his journey in Detroit: Become Human. Mews are ‘Un-differentiated’ Pokemon

Ok so this is a pretty nifty theory on everyone’s favourite cute pink cat/mouse hybrid… thing. The theory suggests that Arceus is the God Pokemon and, after he created time and space, with Dialga and Palkia to govern it, he wanted to populate said planet.

Some are great, standing the test of time over a decade later, while others… well, they’re better off just being forgotten. 9. Far Cry

Credit to the first game in the Far Cry series for kicking things off, but after what came before it, it may not entirely stand the test of time. Considering when it was released, the original Far Cry looks pretty great and it sold the jungle environment very well. The enemy AI is mostly intelligent, and the weapons have a good balance between them.

During the leaks as Fortnite’s 25.11 update is rolled out across all platforms, it’s been revealed that Bethesda Gamer Studios’ Elder Scrolls series may be the next gaming collaboration to come to the ever-popular Battle Royale title.

The news comes via the popular Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey. In the usual stream of tweets sharing the various leaks from the new game files, the leaker revealed an encrypted ‘Folk Evening’ cosmetics set. You can see them in the embedded tweet below.

During the downtime for the Fortnite 25.11 update today, leaks have started surfacing from the usual suspects and one in particular has grabbed the attention of fans. The Pump Shotgun is returning to Fortnite, but before you get too excited, it’s received a fairly hefty nerf.

As shared by popular leaker HYPEX, the Pump Shotgun will be unvaulted and return to Fortnite’s weapons pool as part of a future update, but its headshot damage and general effectiveness in battle have been shaken up a little bit.

Let’s address the elephant in the room here. Up until this weekend, I’d never played a Mortal Kombat game. Yes, yes, cue the gasps and pitchforks in the comments section. I’ve always sat back, appreciating friends unleashing brutal fatalities on one another and frantically mashing out combos on controllers, but for my own fighting fix, I’ve gravitated towards the Tekken series. Having got an invite into Mortal Kombat 1’s stress test this weekend, though, I decided to finally see what all the fuss was about.

And reader, my ass got handed to me fight after fight after fight. Having realized that immediately hopping online might not be the wisest decision as a complete newcomer, I opted to try out the single-player ‘Tower’ mode to find my footing. I did what everyone initially does when checking out a new fighting game — I pored over the extensive move lists teeming with combos, tried to remember a few, and then proceeded to button mash through my first fight. It did not end well.

During today’s Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Luigi’s Mansion 2 that originally released on the Nintendo 3DS back in 2013 will be getting a remake for the Nintendo Switch.

Barely any other details were shared during the Direct on the remake, outside of the fact that it’s getting a fresh lick of paint to bring the visuals up to 2023’s standards. We only got about 10-15 seconds of footage, too, so it’s difficult to say whether the gameplay will remain the exact same as that in the original.

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life on PS5

Within minutes of booting up Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, I was hit by a wave of nostalgia. The guitar-twanging soundtrack kicked in and transported me back to playing the original, Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life, on the GameCube over a decade ago now. It was a heart-warming experience, encountering the cast of weird and wonderful characters all over again, but soon enough the cracks in this remake/ remaster started to show.

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life aims to freshen up the 2003 original, but the premise remains the same. You’ve inherited a rundown farm from your father and travel to the sleepy town of Forgotten Valley to give revitalizing it your best shot. In terms of changes over the original, this ‘Story of Seasons’ version adds pronouns and customization options to the character creator, gives you different outfits to purchase and wear, adds more crops to those originally on offer, adds more romance options including same gender, and enhances the various events that take place throughout each year. That all sounds quite a lot, but before my first year in the game had come to a close, I soon realized that, actually, Forgotten Valley is very much stuck in the past of the farming sim genre.

Ubisoft developer Ivory Tower today’ gave fans a glimpse of the latest entry into the open-world racing series. During the Ubisoft Forward livestream, The Crew Motorfest got its time in the spotlight, with a new trailer and a gameplay showcase.

Kicking things off, Ubisoft showed a very flashy trailer of street racing at night-time, drag racing down a street and straight into a jungle (as you do), and then into a downhill race between a truck and a moped. We’re back onto roads for some stormy coastal road driving, and then back onto the track in a Red Bull F1 car. All of that is to say that yes, The Crew Motorfest will have a variety of terrains to explore and vehicles to traverse it in.

Epic Games has shared the trailer for the new season of Fortnite kicking off today. Chapter 4 Season 3, also known as the ‘WILDS’ update will see players exploring ancient ruins exposed beneath the surface from all those earthquakes that have been going on in-game. There’s also raptors, vines, and Optimus Prime. Can you tell we’re pleased with how well that flows? I can!

The trailer, which you can check out below, gives us a glimpse of some very jungle-looking areas. In it, we get to see the refined selection of weapons that we’ll have access to this season, alongside large vines that can be grinded on for quick and easy access around parts of the map. Players will be able to ascent to the canopies of the hidden jungle, ride raptors to quickly cover ground, and slide in mud for added speed and camouflage.

It’s that time of the year that the video game industry’s collective best friend, Geoff Keighley, loves best. That’s right, it’s what was once E3 season, which Geoff has now taken over in the form of Summer Game Fest! The livestream hosted by Keighley himself brought a whole host of new game trailers and announcements to our screens, accommodating everyone from the most hardcore of PC gamers, console connoisseurs and the casual crowd. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Unexpectedly kicking off the show was a new reveal for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. The game’s sticking to the series side-scrolling gameplay for the most part, but has been revamped with some slick-looking new visuals. The combat looks to be as fast-paced and frenetic as fans have come to expect from the series.

With each generation of video game consoles, games continue to get bigger and better. Worlds are teeming with detail, and continue to stretch beyond the horizon. Character models are intricately detailed, and the sheer amount of quests and content for players to work their way through has crept up into the hundreds of hours to complete. A quick note here, to save this from being a very repetitive list of Call of Duty titles, we’ve bundled most of those together. Redfall has been infested by vampires and only you can stop them. All those survivors hiding in the Maritime Center or Fire Station? Pffft, they’ve got nothing on you… and seemingly have no desire to… y’know, save the world. Once you’ve successfully pushed back the blood-sucking foes, though, what’s left to do in Redfall? Here’s 5 things to do after beating Redfall, though before we dive into them, we’ve got something important to note.

Let’s make one thing very clear first. If you’re not looking to start the campaign from the very beginning again, don’t start the final mission/boss battle. After defeating them, you’ll be shown the credits and a cutscene which… well… let’s just say means you can’t go back into the open world for post-game fun. As such, we’ve listed on some of these entries which you should do before completing the story, and which you’re free to dive into after beating that final mission.

Microsoft has announced the Xbox Games Showcase will take place next month on Sunday, June 11th at 10am PT/ 1pm ET/ 6pm BST, with the Starfield Direct livestream set to take place immediately afterwards.

In a post on the Xbox Wire blog, Microsoft confirmed that the Xbox Games Showcase will give players “some new surprises and first-looks” from the publisher’s first-party studios, as well as its creative partners around the world. The livestream’s aim will be to give fans an idea of what’s coming to Xbox, PC and the Game Pass subscription service in the near future.

Redfall on Xbox Series X

Redfall is very clearly supposed to be a co-op multiplayer experience. From the way its four characters have abilities so clearly suited to complementing roles in a multiplayer party, through to its drop-in-drop-out mission structure, there’s a sense that the open-world is more of a Vampire-riddled sandbox for you and your friends to let loose against the forces of evil with as little friction as possible, than anything more immersive. But, what if, like me, you didn’t have anyone to play Redfall with? Does the gameplay stand up in single-player? That’s what I’ll aim to answer for you in this review, but in short, it’s a blood-tinged cocktail of hits and largely misses.

The story goes a little something like this. You pick one of four main characters as you try and get to the bottom of the vampiric uprising in the city of Redfall. The sun has been blocked out and the Vampire Gods now rule over the rural lands. Standard vampires float in the air, on the lookout for the next unknowing blood-filled civilian to be sucked dry, and the Bellwether security corporation has been dropped in to fight the vampires and the human cultists that have sworn allegiance to them. As such, it’s down to you to go about the world, piecing together exactly how these vampire gods came to be and taking them down one by one.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores on PS5

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is an interesting proposition. While it largely offers more of the same that the base game did in terms of gameplay, it elevates it with an interesting story that more or less sets the scene for what’s to come in the franchise. Throw in some exciting new machines, characters you’ll love and hate (in a good way), and strong additions to Aloy’s arsenal of abilities and weapons, and fans of the series won’t want to skip this trip to LA.

Burning Shores takes Aloy to a selection of scattered isles which make up the remains of Los Angeles. Set off the south coast of Forbidden West’s main map, our protagonist ventures out there in search of answers to do with the Zeniths and the major threat revealed at the end of the main game. Destined to do Sylens’ dirty work yet again, Aloy flies her way over, only to be immediately shot down by a rather hostile tower and inadvertently meets Seyka, an all-new character who makes up part of a tribe that lives out here.

Fans are calling for Arkane Studios’ upcoming vampire-hunting open-world shooter, Redfall, to be delayed following the announcement that the game’s ‘Performance’ mode will not be available at launch on Xbox consoles.

The news comes via a tweet from the official Redfall Twitter account, revealing that the game will only launch with ‘Quality’ mode on Xbox consoles at launch. This means that the game will run at the following resolutions and framerates on Xbox Series X|S:

Mojang Studios is doing some exciting stuff with its Minecraft franchise. Rather than simply work on improving and adding to its blocky sandbox title, the studio is constantly looking to experiment with the franchise in new genres. First it was dungeon crawlers with Minecraft Dungeons, and now it’s taking on the real-time strategy series with Minecraft Legends. While Dungeons had a surprising level of depth, though, my initial impressions of Minecraft Legends left me feeling like it was a little lacking in this regard, instead seeking to offer an accessible, surface-level approach to the real-time strategy experience.

In a hands-off presentation, I was given a look at the single-player campaign, as well as the multiplayer PvP mode, and that lack of depth spanned across both of these aspects.

Road 96: Mile 0 on PlayStation 5

When you stumble upon a success, it’s understandable that you’ll want to double down on it. 2021’s Road 96 wowed players with its procedurally-generated road trips to the border, its endearing cast of characters, politically-charged story and varied gameplay. It was one of my own personal favorite games of the year, so when I heard that developer DigixArt was releasing a spin-off experience, I was eager to set off down the ol’ dusty road once more. This time, though, it’s been more of a directionless amble than an epic journey to the border.

Mile 0 foregoes the procedurally-generated journey to the border, instead focusing on the lives of two best friends who come from completely different backgrounds. Zoe, the red-headed, trombone-playing teen who also happens to be the daughter of corrupt President Tyrak’s Minister of Oil that we met in the original game, and Kaito, the son of a groundskeeper and cleaner under the oppressive regime. His girlfriend, Aya was diagnosed with cancer due to the horrible pollution of Colton City, the polluted and dangerous capital city of Petria where they previously resided. You can see where this is going. Despite both Zoe and Kaito getting on like a house on fire, there are political and social issues that will inevitably hinder their friendship, and it’s this dynamic that the story of Mile 0 hones in on.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has received its first gameplay demonstration, courtesy of producer Eiji Aonuma himself. Showcasing a number of new abilities available to Link, such as weapon fusing, a more intricate crafting mechanic and the ability to ascend through the ceilings of structures, the sequel to the 2017 Nintendo Switch launch title looks set to expand upon the foundations of the critically-acclaimed game quite significantly. While the abilities were the primary focus of the gameplay demo, though, if you looked carefully, you could also spot a Korok which hints the cute little creatures may have a more significant purpose than being mere hidden collectibles as they were in Breath of the Wild.

Spotted at the 1:22 mark in the gameplay demonstration, a Korok with a backpack can be seen exclaiming “I need to reach my friend!”
